The following call for visual artists of practices is presented by The Summit at Copper Square Condominiums in partnership with Artlink Inc. The deadline to submit is Thursday, October 16, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. (local Arizona time).
In 2018, Artlink launched its In Residence program in an effort to thoughtfully connect resident communities to the Arizona artists. The following opportunity is the second iteration of this growing program in partnership with The Summit at Copper Square.
Project: The Summit Collection Exhibition - 3rd Cycle
Address: 310 S. 4th St., Phoenix, AZ, 85004
BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
The Summit at Copper Square is located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, across from Chase Field. The Summit is home to 165 residences and five commercial tenants.
In October 2024, the The Summit's HOA Board approved the adoption of a new art program to connect its residents to the artist community. An Arts Committee comprised of The Summit residents has been created to manage the program, and an Art Fund has been established in partnership with Artlink Inc. for the purposes of developing a permanent art collection for the building.
The Summit residents have expressed a strong desire to be engaged with and support local artists and craftsmen. There is significant enthusiasm for art to become a defining feature throughout the building, with interest in attending art openings and acquiring artwork for personal collections. The exhibitions serve as a process for the Summit Arts Committee to select works for the building's collection. Through a series of exhibitions, art will be displayed in the recently renovated first-floor lobby and adjacent common areas. The art selected for the exhibition is available for purchase for The Summit's art collection as well as by the residents and their guests.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
Criteria: The Summit's residents have been surveyed and preferences are for a variety of works, ranging from thought-provoking, edgy and peaceful themes. While the committee will honor diverse tastes, selections will avoid overly provocative or controversial works to ensure the art contributes to a welcoming, home-like atmosphere. The goal of the selection committee is to curate an exhibition that will strike a dynamic balance between these interests.
A variety of artworks are welcome for submission, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, pastels, photography, ceramics, printmaking, textiles, and mixed media. More than one artwork from a submitting artist may be selected. This is a call for existing work.
